Race for the Braclets.

Just played a Fulltilt Race for the braclet tournament. It cost $26 to play and there were 75 entries. Which meant winner take all for a $1500 WSOP seat and $500 spending cash. I nice little overlay for this tournament. My wife won one last year and took 2nd for $380 in one. I will win at least one this year! Came in 10th out of 75 tonight. Which wasn't bad being Limit HE is not my speciality. Oh well will play in a few more this week. I can't wait for the WSOP this year. Good luck at the tables and have a good night! Tony

No Limit

Been playing the low limit no limit games on Fulltilt this week. Man I think everyone's inner donkey is coming out. People are just giving money away. It's unreal how poorly the play has become. I am talking about .10-.25 and .25-.50 no limit games. TGIF!! Good Luck at the tables. Tony

More Fulltilt HORSE.

Played some more $1-2 HORSE on Fulltilt poker last night. Oh my the Donkies were out in full force. You will not believe it unless you play yourself. People betting with no chance to steal the pot. It's not no limit no one will fold into a $15 pot for $2! Chasing for gutshots to the river over and over again. Worse yet chasing in Razz to a weak 9 drawing dead! Played A-4 for low for raises when it is so obvious the A-2 is out there. I could go on and on about how weak this game is. Click my Fulltilt banner above and give it a try yourself. Good Luck at the tables. Tony

HORSE

There has been talk that the games online have gotten tougher do to the USA changing it's laws about funding Online sites. I say "NO WAY"! The HORSE games on Fulltilt Poker are so soft! Some of the players there don't even know the rules of RAZZ. I am not talking about micro limit games either. This is at $1-2 and $2-4. Just be prepared for a wild ride. The suckouts are really sick and bad. Just make the nuts and bet like there is no tomorrow. They will pay you off no matter how obvious it is they are beat! Try it out for yourself. Good Luck at the tables. Tony

Taj Mahal Poker Room.

We have been having really bad luck at the Borgata lately. I still beleive it's the best poker room to play in, on the east coast. After taking bad beat after bad beat we decided to give the Taj a try. I used to play at the Taj every weekend for like 7 years straight. The place was pretty packed and loud, like the old days on a saturday night. I remember when smoking was aloud in AC. The Taj on a saturday night was unreal! Came home stinking like smoke. Anyway things have improved now that it's smoke free. On to the games. They had 2-$20-40 and 3-$10-20 games in progress. After a 15 minute wait I got a seat in a $10-20 game. The game was awesome, to say the least. Two guys were seeing every flop, no matter how many pre-flop raises there were. After the flop if they had any peice they would chase to the river! It seams this room attracts gamblers not rounders. At the Borgata sometimes half the table contains semi-pro players. At the Taj you have people bring black chips($100) from the pit games. The biggest negative is the room is dirty and loud. Have to have noise reduction head phones here. Also anti-bacterial soap. There is money to be made playing here for sure. Good luck at the tables. What a Cooler!

Played a friendly Sit-N-Go Tournament at my brother's house last night. My brother, who is an excellent home SNG player, wins everytime we play. Not including last night! We are playing in a 7 man SNG with 3 places paying, like 70% to first. On the first hand, in early postion, he raises 4 times the big blind and gets called in 3 spots. Flop comes J-10-9 of diamonds. He has K-Q with the king of diamonds. Flopped nut straight with a redraw to a flush, gutshot straight flush. He wastes no time and goes all in. My other brother folds his Q-8 straight with no hesitation! The person in the small blind insta-calls. He has the 6-7 of diamonds, flopped a flush with a straight flush re-draw. No change on the turn or river and my brother is out. Worst thing is he gets stuck being the dealer for the duration of the SNG. Also takes tons of abuse being he busted on the first hand. What a cooler. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Depressing Borgata Post.

Sorry for the depressing post yesterday. Poker can be a cruel hard game sometimes. It just hurts playing all day and getting kicked in the junk over and over again! Played my heart out for 12 hours straight, which was way too long. I never like to play live for more then 8 hours. I actually felt dizzy and weak at the end of my session. Things in life could always be worse. I have my health and family to be thankful for. I will try to remain upbeat about life in the future. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Borgata Trip Report.

Wish I had good things to report about the trip but I don't. I won't bore you with bad beats stories. There were far too many to tell about anyway. Played way too long chasing to get my money back. Holdem is a cruel game sometimes. How about flopping 20 nut flushes draws in one day. Only hitting one of them! Many of them also had gut shot draws or a pair to go along with it. Haven't had such a brutal day playing in over 2 years. I have been on a great run for a few weeks now, so knew it wouldn't last forever. They say that all great things must come to an end. Oh well sorry for such a downer of a post today. Didn't get enough sleep last night also. I will get them next time. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Borgata Trip.

Another weekend and another Borgata trip planned. Only problem is that it's snowing big time on the eastern coast right now. I am dying to go play some $20-40 at the Borgata tonight. I am such a degenerate that I will brave the elements and take the trip down there tonight :-). Plan on making a huge score this weekend. Expect a trip report on Sunday with great news! Always go play poker with a winning attitude. That's it for today. Good luck at the tables. Tony

To post or not?

That is the question. Could not decide what to post about today. Have been playing a lot of micro-limit no limit lately at FullTilt. These games are so soft! I think I have donked around enough in them. Time to move up and play with the big boys. Think I will try .25-.50 no limit tonight :-). Will report back about it this week. Until then good luck at the tables. Tony

The Setup

As I wrote in my previous post I played in the Borgata $340 No Limit Tournament on Saturday. Played pretty solid for a few hours. Actually what appeared to be super-tight, being my cards were dead. Finally in late position I pushed all in with 8-6 of spades. An older gentleman in the Bid Blind stated he wasn’t calling unless he had Queens or better. He looks at his cards and mucks the A-10 of hearts face up. At the time he had 5 times the chips as me. Regardless he believed I had a monster so I flipped up my 8-6 for everyone to see. The table was shocked being everyone thought I was playing so tight. I showed this hand to set them up for later, which happened a few hands later. I get dealt 2 Kings under the gun. I insta-pushed to try to sell I was frustrated. A guy 2 to my left insta-calls with A-9o. I doubled through him for like 60% of his stack. A good player at the table, except for the fact that he kept giving everyone lessons, stated that I had set up that call perfectly from my show of 8-6 a few hands ago. I agree totally that it was a great setup. Just that I didn’t need him educating everyone about what I had done. The setup play works well if people at the tables are paying attention and “trying to play good poker”. In this case most of them were. Look for some more posts about the tournament this week. Good Luck at the tables. Tony

Borgata Tournament.

Live tournaments are brutal! Played in the Borgata Saturday $340 No Limit tournament. I have spoken in praise about this tournament many times already. Won't go into it in this post. Long story short I played my heart out for 5 hours! Finished in 24 out of 114, 18 places paid. So brutal was my ending! Call a push with A-K and lost to A-Jo. I will post about the tournament tommorrow. Good Luck at the tables. Tony

Planned Borgata Trip.

We are planning on another Borgata trip this weekend. I will finally move up to $20-40 this time. Also may play in the WSOP Circuit event on saturday. They are expecting over 1000 players at $340 each. Which means first prize will be close to $100,000! If we don't play in this we will play the normal Borgata $340 saturday tournament. I have a feeling I will make a positive post, about this trip, on Sunday. Good Luck at the tables. Tony

Borgata SNG.

So my wife and I played in the $270 SNG at the Borgata on Saturday. The structure was excellent for a low priced sit n go. Started with 3000 chips and the blinds went up every 20 minutes. I would highly recommend playing in one of these if you have an hour and a half to spare. I didn't get any cards the entire time. Got no pairs, my best hand was A-J off. I managed to steal a few pots and last awhile. Finished in 6th. My wife did great. She wound up chopping the prize pool with 2 other players. The did an even split of $800 each, left $100 for the dealer.(Plus she put in an extra $20 for him.) I will post more out about it later in the week. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Borgata Trip.

We had a very good day at the Borgata yesterday. Didn't get to play the $20-40 game after all. We got seated in a great $10-20 game while waiting for our $20-40 game. It was just too good to pass up. Made 20 Big bets in 2 hours. From there we got called for a $270 SNG that we signed up for. I have good news to report from the SNG. Don't have time for it now but will post about it later today. I will definitely be playing in the $20-40 game on our next trip. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Moving on up.

Another weekend is here. Time for another trip to the Borgata. This trip may mark a milestone in my poker playing career. Moving up to $20-40 LHE today. Have had success with $10-20 and have decided to take a shot at the higher level. Just a year ago $6-12 was my max. Hopefully this time next year $20-40 will be my main game and I will be taking a shot at $40-80. We will see. Look for a trip report tomorrow. Good luck at the tables. Tony
