End of the Year Online Poker Results

I haven’t totaled up my results for the year in Online Poker yet. I keep stats. separated by Cash games, Sit-N-Gos, and Mtts. Only thing is in the past I have lumped Bonuses and Rake back in with Cash Games. For 2011 I have created a separate Excel File for them. Want to really reflect my failure or success in each discipline. Looked over the numbers briefly and had another winning year I’m sure. Problem is the amount of the wins are less and less each year. Let’s face it Online Poker is getting tougher to beat all the time. While my game has improved everyone else’s has caught up to me. Still looks like Cash Razz and Double or Nothing Sit-N-Gos are my cash cows. Have to really look over my spread sheets to know for sure. Well it will be a new year on Saturday and I can shoot for higher profits. Also a higher finish on the Tournament Leader Board on Poker Stars. Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables. Tony

Holiday Poker Play

Something weird has been going on with Online Poker for the last 2 weeks. I can’t seem to figure out why the play has gotten so bad/crazy lately. Maybe it’s the fact we are around holiday time and people are just looking to blow off some steam by donking around? Maybe it’s this whole Harry Reid bill and people are thinking this is their last chance to play Online for awhile? I remember in the days before Party was going to pull out that the play was unreal so bad. It was like people’s last chance to have fun before the plug was about to be pulled. All I know is I should be making a ton of money against all this bad play. Instead I am running so bad, losing night after night. Funny thing is I play much better against good players, have never had any luck against a table of bad players. In live play this has happened to me so many times. Have gotten my ass handed to me against a table of complete idiots so many times. Anyway tonight I will try my luck again. Happy holidays to everyone. Tony

No Limit MTT

Got to say that No Limit MTTs Online just plain suck. Starting to be convinced there isn't much skill involved in them at all. How many times do I shove Aces and lose to A-J off when I get 4 flushed? It's completely crazy the shit I have been seeing lately. On the other hand Stud, Stud Hi/Lo, and Razz MTTs seem to be more skill based to me. Just feels like you control your own destiny much more in Stud MTTs? Anyone agree or disagree? Please leave a comment. Tony

Running Bad

I am running so bad at mtts for the last few days. I havn't cashed in even one the whole weekend. This is bad for someone that cashes in over 30% of them. I try to play a low varience style which has me cashing often in them. Think I may change the way I play to just go for broke all the time in them. Finishing in the top three in one mtt out of 100 is better than min-cashing in many of them! I am profitable for the year but not making any large scores. Problem is whenever I go for the homerun I strike out constantly. Oh well tomorrow is another day. Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables. Tony

Playing Sick

I have said it before and I will say it again,"Don't play poker sick!". When will I follow my own advice. I stayed home sick today and decided to play a little Online Poker, very bad idea. Got my ass handed to me. Granted I did get very unlucky. In 500 hands of Rush Poker I lost 3 times all in pre-flop with an overpair to an underpair! Twice it was poket Kings losing to pocket Queens. Felt like my Kings were jinxed today. As for Razz it didn't go much better either. Oh well hope to feel better and get them tomorrow. Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables. Tony

Rush Poker Hand

Is this a good play? Let me tell you how the hand played out and you decide. I am playing low-limit Rush No Limit on Full Tilt. UTG+1 has 100BB stack and I have 50BB. UTG comes in for a min-raise. UTG+1 calls as well as the next 3 players. I have A-K suited and decide to squeeze so I shove. Is my play good? I have a good hand and there is a lot of dead money to pick up, supposedly that is. Everyone folds back to UTG+2 who re-ships his 100BBs on me. Oh no what have I stepped into this time? Should be in a coin flip situation vs. Jacks or Queens played funny right? The flop comes K-J-10 giving me top pair and a gutter. Forgot to tell you he has Pocket Aces. WTF, did he play this hand well or not? I think he got lucky that I shoved on him. Otherwise he would have played this hand vs. 6 players and probably gotten cracked. You decide if I played well and/or if he did. Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables. Tony
