Checking In

Not a lot going on this week. I finally had my taxes done for 2011. Worked out ok, I'm getting a little back. Been beating the short handed micro Limit HE games on Carbon Poke this week. Finally got back to the don't push the action that has been successful for me in the past. How about the Mega-Millions Jackpot tonight. It's expected to go above the 640 million projection!! What would you do with that kind of a score? Good luck to all who play it. Tony

Trouble in Atlantic City

Sunday is Sneak peek day for my Ebook, "Trouble in Atlantic City". I have 45K words written of the rough draft. Here is an unedited chapter from it. Enjoy. Tony

If you tell people, from other parts of the country, that you are from New Jersey they make some bad joke by stating, “Oh yea, which exit”? This joke is referring to the fact that Route 95, called the New Jersey Turnpike, is the main road most people associate with our great state. The reason for this is that the Newark airport is located on the New Jersey Turnpike. Also that area is full of many chemical plants that emit bad smells and tons of pollution into the atmosphere. So when people are driving or getting driven out of the airport they pass through this area and it makes a bad first impression on them. We all know how hard it is to change a bad first impression of anything. This is why it’s so important for restaurants to look clean and well maintained on the outside. If it looks bad from the outside people won’t even give it a chance. So New Jersey is like a rundown restaurant that may never get a chance to show off how good their food is being the bad first impression ruins it. Anyway I have gone off on a tangent about my lovely state of New Jersey back to the story of how I almost got killed investigating another routine case of a couple getting intimidated by mobsters they owed money too. So I thought it was going to be another easy routine case for me. I didn’t know what I was getting myself involved with for this case until it was almost too late.

Short Handed Limit HE

Ok I have remembered how to beat these short handed games. Took me awhile to remember that no one folds a hand they want to play in this game. They take J-7 suited for 4 bets to see a flop. You have to remember that when your pocket Kings get snapped off by a river seven on a jack high rainbow flop with rags! Also pushing the action doesn't work, you have to let it come to you. Calling someone down when you have top pair makes sense instead of raising on the turn. You lose less when you are behind and win more when they are bluffing. This week has been good to me, roll is coming back. Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables. Tony

Carbon Poker

I have forgotten how to beat short handed Limit Hold Em. Also the variance is killing me. Almost forgot you can get bad beat 5 hands in a row short-handed easily. My roll on Carbon is getting low. I will have to drop down in stakes. Hurts the ego but have to do it. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Great BLOG and Book

I have been reading a great BLOG for over 5 years, "Hard Boiled Poker". Shamus wrote a detective novel, also available via E-book for the Kindle and Nook. I am half way thru it and love it! I recommend both his BLOG and his book.(He has a link on his BLOG to purchase it, otherwise all the major Online Sites sell it too.) Click the link below and check out his BLOG yourself. Thanks for reading and good luck at the table. Tony

    Another Sneek Peek

Yet another very rough, unedited sneek peek at my Ebook am currently working on. "Trouble in Atlantic City". Hope to have it for sale on Barnes and Noble/Amazon within a few months. Enjoy. Tony

We don’t have all the money right now Vinny? Can’t we work something out? She batted her eyelashes at him subtlety, hoping to lighten up his mood.
Michelle you realize your husband now owes me close to 1.5 million plus the juice is running every week.
She was taken aback by the amount they actually owed? It was more than she thought but her plan was still doable. Can’t we come to some kind of a deal? She said this slowly and got closer to Vinny.
Vinny was starting to get angry. Who do you think you are dealing with here? Some two-bit hood who is stupid enough to fall for your flirty, you can have me routine? Of course I can have you sexually anytime I want. I own you and your husband, don’t you forget it. Do you really think dangling the sex carrot was going to work for me?
Michelle realized she had made a major mistake with him. Apparently her charm wasn’t going to work in this case. Time to go to plan B. I’m sorry if I insulted you like this Mister Bubouts. I am at your mercy. What can we do to make things right with you?
For one you can drop the act of coming on to me. I did my homework and know how loyal you are to Tommy. As attractive and sexy as you are I not tempted. This is about business and I want to know how you two are going to pay back the money your degenerate husband owes me.
Ok Vinny I will level with you. I have a plan to get you your money. What we need is some time. Can you call your goons off us for three months?
What’s in it for me? I have been patient enough with you and Tommy. For too long he has been disrespecting me.
For that sir I am truly sorry. Tommy didn’t mean any disrespect. He is just weak when it comes to gambling. He has some major problems controlling himself. I assure you I have a plan to pay you in full. Actually you can leave the juice running and we will pay you fifteen percent more than we owe in three months.

    Building a Roll

I've remembered what I had forgotten to beat the micros Online. Finally I am steadily building up a roll at Carbon Poker. At the low stakes you can't push the action, just need to go with the flow. Give the other players some rope and they will hand themselves with it for sure. Especially at the short handed tables. I have been crushing the 6max limit games, like the old days. We will see how long it can last for. Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables. Tony

    Rock Trivia Answer

No One could give me the correct answer to my Rock Trivia question. It wasn't an easy answer. Unless you are in the 40-50 year old range and live on the east coast it was tough. The answer is "Trixter" and the song is "Give it to me Good". I may have some more Rock Trivia posts in the future, we will see. The work on my E-book is coming along well. Got almost 42K words, hope to have over 50K by the end of the month. Than I go into the tough editing/rewriting phase. This is all new to me, being this is my first book so wish me luck. BTW - I just bought Same Difference, over at "Hard Boiled Poker". I love his writing style and so far love the book. His site is great too, here is the link, check it out you won't be sorry.
