Barnes and Noble Delivery

I got home to today and found a surprise.  My Barnes and Noble order arrived to my house!  I got my copy of "Jack Ripper Stole My Dog".  Being I miss Dr. Pauly writing I can't wait to start reading it tonight.  Also my Law and Order L.A. DVD pack arrived too.  Can't beat $17 for a whole season for my viewing pleasure.  I will post a review of the Doctor's book once I am done reading it.  Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables.  tony

Jack Tripper Stole My Dog

I got tired of waiting for Dr. Pauly's book to be for sale for the Nook.  I finally ordered an actual real book copy on Barnes and Noble.  Plus many Law and Order seasons are half price so ordered one of them too.  Proofing of my Ebook is going slowly but making progress.  A few more months to wait my patience readers.  Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables.  Tony

HORSE Score

I took 2nd in the 11:10am HORSE tournament on Carbon Poker this weekend.  This is the 2nd time in a month that I took second in this one.  That is the good news.  Bad news is once again I had a huge chip lead like 6-1, but ran into sick cooler hands.  Felt I played much better then the winner but he won all the huge pots and let me take the small ones.   Well it's good practice for the HORSE Tournament I will play at the Borgata Open in September.  Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables.  Tony

Ebook Proofing

Been going over my Ebook, "Trouble in Atlantic City", with a fine tooth comb.  The first draft wasn't too bad after all!  Have made a few corrections here and there.  After I go through the whole book will do it again.  Then will have my wife and my mother go through it.  This book will be well written once complete!  I plan on charging $6.99 for it, so I want it well worth the wait and price.  Give me a few more months, it's worth reading for sure.  Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables.  Tony

Ebook Done Finally

Finally have finished up writing my Novel.  Now have to go through and do the proofing, re-writing, and formatting.  I hope to be done in 3 months.  Will publish on Amazon and Barnes/Noble.  Thanks for your patience.  Here is a sneak peek.  Tony

Welcome to Atlantic City, faded seaside resort city and east coast Vegas, want to be. Playground to every jet setter, high roller, high stakes Poker playing smuck, sleazebag and little old grey haired lady trying to get a piece of the gamblers dream to make that one big score. This is my territory; my name is Frank Vagola, Atlantic City P.I. I’m an ex-cop from the New York suburbs of Ridgefield Park New Jersey.  After putting in my 20 years of service to qualify for a full pension I retired from the police force.  Things were getting too corrupt for my liking anyway.   Also New Jersey Policies were starting to get to me.  Over time we public servants have lost respect from the public we are paid to serve.  Being there have been many scandals involving crooked cops I see why this is.   These days I spend my time in private practice as a private investigator, have an office above my garage in a small house I rent in Absecon New Jersey.  It’s not glamorous but it pays the bills and keeps me out/in trouble on a daily basis.  Mostly spend my times following cheating spouses around to motels alone the major highways of New Jersey.  Speaking of which I have lived in my whole life and intend on dying here too.
If you tell people, from other parts of the country, that you are from New Jersey they make some bad joke by stating, “Oh yea, which exit”?  This  joke is referring to the fact that Route 95, called the New Jersey Turnpike, is the main road most people associate with our great state.  The reason for this is that the Newark airport is located on the New Jersey Turnpike.  Also that area is full of many chemical plants that emit bad smells and tons of pollution into the atmosphere.  So when people are driving or getting driven out of the airport they pass through this area and it makes a bad first impression on them.  We all know how hard it is to change a bad first impression of anything.  This is why it’s so important for restaurants to look clean and well maintained on the outside.  If it looks bad from the outside people won’t even give it a chance. So New Jersey is like a rundown restaurant that may never get a chance to show off how good their food is being the bad first impression ruins it.  Anyway I have gone off on a tangent about my lovely state of New Jersey back to the story of how I almost got killed investigating another routine case of a couple getting intimidated by mobsters they owed money too.   So I thought it was going to be another easy routine case for me.  I didn’t know what I was getting myself involved with for this case until it was almost too late.

Borgata Deep Stack Tournament Trip Report

I played in the Deep Stack event yesterday at the Borgata.  Over 650 entries, with re-entries, if knocked out in the first 6 levels can rebuy into the event.  The structure was decent starting with 15K chips and 30 minute blinds.  I lasted 8 hours to get knocked out right before the dinner break and close to the money.   I had between 10 and 20 Big Blinds the whole day.  Real problem was all my big starting hands came early in the event.  Also I overplayed them all pre-flop so didn't make many chips on them.  Also I lost a big pot with Queens early in the 3rd level that hurt my chip count. It took me a few hours to really recover from it and get back up to 20 Big blinds.  Overall I was happy with my play and just couldn't win an all in race with nines vs Ace-Jackass at the end.  If I win that hand I would have been right back in the hunt with around 45 Big Blinds. Oh well there is always next time.  Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables.  Tony
