Bad RAZZ Night

Back to reality last night, I guess everyday isn’t Christmas, LOL. Got my ass handed to me last night playing at a higher RAZZ level than I regularly play at. Was really getting killed but came back to only be down 38BBs. In the first hour I lost with 4 good 7s! What kept on happening is I would have A-3-4-5-7 vs. an aggressive better who would make A-2-3-4-7 on the river and get 2 more bets out of me. Thankfully I was playing conservatively and not re-raising in this spot! At one point I was in the hole for like 70BBs, what a bad night it would have been stopping down that much. I kept losing to the same 2 players over and over again. I started to tilt and complain about their play in the chat. This is always a bad counter-productive thing to do. Remember that you want them to play bad and get lucky against you sometimes. It’s just when they keep catching over and over again it gets really old fast. I wiped out the last week’s profits in one night. Always seems to be the way, have 5 winning days in a row and lose it all in one bad session. Having a stop loss of 30BBs may have saved me a little but really not much I could do right to preserve my roll. Think I was down 30BBs in less than the first hour. Had to keep playing being need to maintain my VIP status for the month. Of well tonight will be a new day/night to get some revenge. Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables. Tony

Limit Online Poker

Let me tell you Limit Poker has a really high variance. Not only that but a few big lost pots can put you in a big hole to dig out of. I moved up to the mid-stakes RAZZ games on Poker Stars and am now on a roller coaster of results. I lost one huge pot last night that the villain should have folded on 5th street but calls my bet to catch perfect perfect, which of course he does. How can he call my bet on Fifth with 5-K-K showing? WTF I just don’t get it, granted the pot was bloated being is went raise and re-raise on third. He had started with A-3-5 and I was way behind with my 7-3-2 on third. I can see him taking a card off on 4th in a bloated pot but then catches another King and still chases. In the long run I want him to chase this hand all the time. Of course this time he beats me and this hand makes me a loser for the whole night. Of well I have been crushing the RAZZ tables for the last few weeks so 2 losing nights in a row isn’t a total disaster. This weekend look for me playing in the Stars new “Sunday Storm” tournament. It’s a huge lottery for $11 with a Million Dollar Guarantee! Thanks for reading and Good Luck at the tables. Tony

The State of Razz

This is a post about the awesome soft Razz games on Poker Stars right now! I have been crushing the low limit games for the last few weeks. Funny thing is the same donks at the low limits are also playing at the mid-limits too! I am taking about the $5-10 and $10-20 games have the same $1-2 and $2-4 donks, sweet. Not much else going on for me Online these days. Can this be the weekend I make that elusive big MTT score? We will see. Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables. Tony

Mini-FTOPS RAZZ Tonight

Tonight there is a Razz mini-FTOPS event on Full Tilt. I will be playing in it and hopefully taking it down. If they have a good structure don’t see why I can’t crush the Donks on Full Tilt at Razz. TGIF. Thanks for reading and good luck at the tables. Tony
P.S. – If you don’t have a Full Tilt account please sign up using my bonus code “AVIGANOLA”. I will transfer you an extra bonus out of my roll after you make your first real money deposit!

Mt Airy Poker Room Review

The room itself was small I think 12 tables and it was packed. Their was a long waiting list for all games. It was mostly a $1-2 No Limit room with 2 $2-5 games going. As for Limit Poker as usual there wasn't many games going and the list was long. They had 2 $2-4 Limit games going and a list of interest for a $3-6 game that never got started on a Saturday night. As for the $2-4 game I played in it was super soft. Virtually no pre-flop raising and 7 or 8 players to the flop every hand. I use the term players loosely being the play was awful! There were 3 players at the table that played every hand and I mean every hand! The play at this table was worse then a .25-.50 limit game online at Poker Stars. As for the Rake structure it was one of the worst I have ever seen. 10% rake up to $5 plus another $1 taken for the bad beat Jackpot. Worse yet they took the first $1 and Bad beat dollar on every flop. So if the pot was $10, $2 was dropped for rake plus a tip for the dealer. You would think this game is unbeatable in the long haul. Only thing is the play was so bad that it was easily crushable. I won 22BBs in my 4 hours of play. That is after tipping and giving tips to the cocktail waitresses the whole time. As for the cocktail service it was slow, only had 1 waitress for the whole room and she was overwhelmed big time. I wasn't crazy about the smoke blowing in from the Casino either. It reminded me of the old days in AC when smoking was allowed everywhere. One other note the coffee there was awesome, which is rare in Poker rooms these days. Beware of the Donks today. Happy Donkday. Tony

Live Poker

I haven't had much to write about on this BLOG lately. Today I am doing something that will be postable tommorrow. My brother and I are going over to Mt. Airy Lodge in the Poconos to check out the Poker room. I hope they are spreading some Limit HE games above $2-4, if not I will have to play some low limit No Limit. You can expect a full trip report tommorrow. Until than good luck at the tables. Tony
