TLB Update

My tournamnt leader board quest is going fine so far. I had 9 point cashes yesterday. Am now up to 1900 points in 71 cashes. This isn't bad considering the leader has only improved to 22,000 points. Remember he had 19,000 points the first week. Trick is once you have 100 cashes you only get points for higher ones. Also cleared many VPPs for my bonus yesterday. Beware of the donks today, they will be rewarded! Happy donkday. Tony

More Blogger Freeroll Results

Warning a bad beat story is about to be told, tune out now if you are not interested. I played in the Blogger freeroll last night and was doing fine in it. We were down to around 700 players when I got dealt pocket Aces, under the gun. I was going to limp but thought that screamed Aces so I brought it in for 3x. It folds back to a big stack in the Big blind who smooth calls me. The flop came a not too scary 10-6-4 off. So I c-bet for half the pot and he snap calls me. A three fell on the turn and I c-bet for half the pot again. He snap shoved on me and I felt pot- committed at that point. So I called with my pocket Aces and what does he show me?? The almighty 2-5 but they were suited at least. What a joke, bloggers play really bad. OK end of rant for the day. Beware of bloggers in your MTTs. Tony

Quick Borgata HOSE Report

I am out of their $400 HOSE MTT already. Ran really bad today, then started to play bad also. The structure was great and the turnout was better than expected. Planned Borgata Trip

I can’t wait to get the feel of real cards and chips in my hands tomorrow! I’m making a Borgata AC trip tomorrow, first time playing live Poker in a casino, since last June at the WSOP. At the very least I am playing in the $400 HOSE event tomorrow at 12 noon at the Borgata. Depending on how things go I may play in either the No Limit or Omaha Hi/Lo events on Saturday. If I have an early exit on Friday I will be playing some $10-20 Live Limit HE at the Borgata. We used to play there almost once a week around 2 years ago. Took a nice chunk of change out of that game! I should have internet access in my hotel so look for an update post either Friday night or Saturday morning. Online Grinding

The Online grinding went very well last night. I was multi-tabling Hi/Lo Stud trying to clear my bonus that I only have until Feb.3 to finish. I need around 750 points more so shouldn’t have a problem with it. Want to put a lot of volume in this week being I won’t be playing much this weekend. The wife and I are going down to the Borgata in AC to play in the HOSE Tournament on Friday. Based on how we do may play in the No Limit or Omaha Hi/Lo Tournament on Saturday also. Expect a good trip report sometime this weekend. I wish it was a HORSE tournament but I believe that RAZZ is not allowed in AC. Damn that’s my best leg of HORSE but Hi/Lo Stud is a close 2nd. Haven’t played in a live MTT since Vegas last June. That trip was totally frustrating and brutal. Came within 5 places of cashing in 2 large field MTTS. Also my wife came so close in cashing in her first HORSE MTT even played in. She had never played Om Hi/Lo live and it wound up hurting her chances big time. She may not play in the HOSE tournament, may just grind out some $10-20 Limit HE. We both used to crush that game on a regular basis. Stars TLB Update

This post is for my Tournament Leader Board update, that I promised I would do every few weeks as part of my New Year’s goals. Also promised to try to do a post everyday but work put a monkey wrench into that one? So far I have 41 cashes for 1300 TLB points. The leader was off to a quick start earning 18,000 points in the first week. Things have settled down being he currently has 20,000 points. It may look like I am far behind but I’m still in the hunt. Realize he has already cashed in over 100 MTTs so the only way for him to get points is to get higher cashes than his top 100 so far. For me I still get the points from my next 59 cashes, no matter what. Then I will be in the same boat as the rest on the players attempting to be in the top 100 for the year. Half of my cashes so far are very small, from free rolls, so I can improve on them ratter easily. Currently my score is good for the top 19,000 best TLB points in the world. Being I work full time I will only be getting points on the weekends so I will have a tall order to fill to make the top 100. Still the goal of making the top 100 motivates me to put the volume in to do it. So for now the goal is to have 100 cashes in January and then spend the rest of the year improving on them. Bad MTT Day

Yesterday was one of those, "Can't do anything right." in MTT days. I got my money in good and lost almost everytime! I lost with pair over pair 5 times in a row. In the last one I 4 bet all in with Kings. Before his cards got turned up I knew he had Queens, also knew a Queen was flopping. I was right on both counts. At that point I had enough brutality for one day. So I gave up on MTTs for the day. Did very well in Hi/Lo Stud and HORSE cash games. I won enough to cover 3/4s of my MTT buy ins, so it's all good. Be very careful today, being it's Donkday! Tony

Back To Work

I am back at work and busy as all hell. Things could be worse, could live in Haiti! What a terrible mess they are in from the earthquake. I donated money to the Red Cross and beleive everyone that can should! Being they are such a poor country it makes this even worse. BTW - Been running good all week at Hi/Lo Stud, hope it continues. New Year's Goals

Looks like I have already broke one of my new years resolutions. I want to post here everyday but I haven't. Have a valid excuse. Work decides to block us from using Goggle or Blogger now! It makes no sense but they love to control us. Now I will only be able to post from home, sorry. Will try to post everyday, once I get a good routine worked out. Going to play a sick number of MTTs on Stars this weekend. Actually am playing in 5 right now. Need to earn those TLB points. Will keep you all posted on my progress. Wish me luck. Tony

TLB Update

Like I wrote about yesterday, have started the year off nicely in my quest for a TLB cash on Stars. I already have 15 point cashes for 2010; remember Stars takes your best 100 cashes for the leader board. My plan is to put up 100 cashes as fast as possible and then try to improve on them by getting higher point cashes. Right now many of my cashes are small, coming from freerolls or $1-$5 MTTs. Last year I only had 70 cashes for the whole year so I wasn’t even on the board at all. That is why this year I want to maybe have 100 small cashes in January so I can have a point score to try to improve on for the rest of the year. Once I have the 100 cashes I will try to move up to higher buy in MTTs to improve on my point scores. They give you points for a top 15% finish in any regular MTT. (Satellites, VIP freerolls, and special invite MTTs don’t count in the point totals.) This makes sense being it needs to be fair, only MTTs that everyone can play in count. The first place prize for the year is just sick. It’s like 5 all expense paid trips to EPT tournaments, plus I believe there is a large sum of money involved also and a big freeroll to play in too. I don’t have a chance to be the winner but am sure can get a cash if I really put my mind to it. Have to clear around 1300 VPPs more to clear a huge max bonus I have built up on Stars also, it expires Feb. 3. During the week I will work on this first and concentrate on the MTTs on the weekends. New Year

This is my first post of 2010. Played in a bunch of MTTs on Stars today. I already have TLB points for 6 MTTs. Am off to a good start to my TLB cash goal for 2010.
