Another Bad Night Online.

Playing online last night was just like Sunday night. Cooler after cooler. In the big blind I have J-8 of clubs in an unraised pot. I flop a flush draw, chase to the river and make a flush. I loss to K-6 of clubs who played it from under the gun? I flopped ten nut flush draws for the night, didn’t get there even once. Everytime I won a few pots I would loss the money back. Overall it could have been worse, lost 29 BBs at $1-2. Played three more heads up Sit-N-Gos at FullTilt, went 2-1. I am like 19-4 for my last 23 of them. Still have to post about some interesting live hands from last week. I will get to it one of these days. Will be at it again tonight. Good luck at the tables. Tony

P.S. - Happy Halloween!

Finally a Good Night Playing Online!

Playing online last night was the complete opposite of Sunday night. I couldn’t do any wrong. I moved down to $1-2 and won 34 BBs in an hour and a half. I made 2 full houses in back to back hands. Got paid off big on both of them. Not only that but the second one was such a bad beat. I had K-J in the big blind and decided to defend with it. Flop came 9-K-3 rainbow. I bet and my opponent called. Turn brought a Jack. I bet, he raised and I re-raised. He didn’t cap which told me he didn’t have a straight. The river brought a perfect Jack. We capped it on the river. My Jacks full beat his nines full. He had flopped a set and I caught runner runner to beat him. It’s about time I put a bad beat on someone. It happened to me all day/night on Sunday. Didn’t play in any Heads up SNGs last night. High stakes was on last night so I didn’t want to get tramped in any tournaments or SNGs. I still need to do some posts about interesting hands from Foxwoods and the Borgata this weekend. Maybe tomorrow I will do one. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Sundays are bad for Poker

Yesterday playing poker online was a disaster. I can’t believe I only lost 24BBs. I flopped 3 sets and lost with each one on the River. Had Kings 5 times and only won once with them. (Never had Aces or Queens all day, over 600 hands.) Lost 2 hands in a row to runner runner flushs. On both hands the villain had undercards, with no draw! How can you call a flop of A-2-6 rainbow with J-8 of clubs? I had raised pre-flop with A-K. The flop had 1 club on it. I bet out and he called? Of course club on the turn and river gives me top two pair and him a flush! Arg this game can be so cruel. On the good side I was down almost 50BBs at $2-4. Made half of it back before I quit. These sick beats always seam to happen when playing online on Sundays. It’s more like Bingo then Poker. Tonight I look to book any win to get my confidence back. Will play some more Heads up Sit-N-Gos. After winning 12 in a row I went 3-2 yesterday. That’s 15-2 for my last 17 of them. I like it! Good luck at the tables. Tony

Bad Beat Day!

No one told me Sunday was bad beat day online. Today had just been sick. I have Q-J in the big blind and I flop 9-10-K rainbow. Lose to A-J off on the river! Had Kings six times today and lost 5 of them. I also blew my heads up tournament streak today. I had won 13 in a row as of this morning. I now have lost 2 in a row. I feel I am playing fine today. Just keep getting sucked out on. Oh well I am plugging away right now. Hopefully I can turn it around. Good luck at the tables. Tony

POST UPDATE - Just won 2 heads up Sit-n-gos! Still getting beaten up at $2-4 Limit.

Post for Bloggers/Web Site Owners.

This post is to inform Bloggers and Web Site Owners of a new way to make money by writing sponsered posts. I have been using Reviewme.com for 3 months and don't really like it.

get paid to blog

Have had tons of problems with Reviewme.com. First off I don't like to have very few chances to do sponsered posts. PayperPost has hundreds of reviews to choose from. Reviewme only supplies me with one or two a month. I have had problems with them excepting my reviews. I wouldn't mind so much except customer support is terrible. I had to emailed them 6 times to get things fixed. Two of my reviews were rejected and they never gave me a good reason why. Haven't had any problems with Payperpost at all. Like the fact you can get paid by check or via Paypal. They also give you the option of donating your payments to a choice of famous charities.

get paid to blog

Don't know what else to say about them other then this is a great chance to make some extra money by doing what we like anyway. That is why not do a few posts a month that make you some direct money. Please give them a try out. You won't be disappionted.

Now that the advertisement is out of the way back to Poker! We had a nice hit and run session at the Borgata today. Wife and I won 17 BiG Bets at $10-20 in an hour and a half. We had a nice dinner and then did a little shopping. I want to give a big shoutout to my cousin Anthony. He played the Borgata $340 No Limit tournament today. He took 9th place!! It's only his second time playing and I know he will take down first within the next year. That's it for tonight. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Dave's Homegame.

Shoutout to Carlo for taking down the 2nd Sit-N-Go at Dave's house. This was the forth game in a row that he won one of our tournaments. I had to mention him in this BLOG being he was feeling neglicted :-). Heading down to the Borgata in a few minutes. Wish me luck. Should have a post about the trip tomorrow. Good luck at the tables. Tony

P.S. - The sandwiches he brought to the game were awesome!

Need to Avoid the Coolers.

Can’t seam to avoid coolers these days. Played in two Sit-n-gos last night at my brother’s house. (Ten man with top three places being paid.) Finished in 5th place in both of them. Ran top pair into top pair top kicker in the first one. Ran pocket Jacks into pocket Aces in the second one. At least my brother didn’t crush me in either of these. He was playing super tight and we hardly got into any hands together. I still need to do a post about some of the good hands I was in up in Foxwoods. Will try to do this post on Sunday. Should have some more good stuff to post about after this weekend. We plan on making a $10-20 run at the Borgata tomorrow morning. May play in their $340 Saturday tournament, I am such a glutton for punishment. Always go deep in this tournament only to get coolered close to the money. Oh well the story on my life. I should be in a good mode today, being it’s Friday. Have not been felling well all week so I am pretty negative. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Foxwoods Trip Report

Took a few days off from work to go play the $600 Stud tournament at foxwoods. Felt that my wife and I both played great in it. Neither of us lasted to the money but we both gave it our "A" game. That is all that counts. If we keep playing well our good results will follow soon enough. We played a lot of $10-20 live also. I will do a post tommorow about it. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Poker Bad Beat Jackpot.

Sorry for not posting yesterday, was sick all day. I am home sick today from work also so I will keep this post short. Note this is not a paid announcement! Everyone should get over to UltimateBet right now. The bad beat jackpot is over 430,000K! Great thing is if the jackpot is hit everyone at that level gets a peice of it. In other words when it's hit at $1-2 eveyone gets some of it at all of those tables. I am playing over there right now. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Quick Borgata Trip Report.

We just got back from the Borgata. I played lousy but didn't lose too much. Wife kicked some ass again this week. I will post about it tomorrow. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Limit HE Grind

Last night was another winning night at $2-4. I am really starting to get into the flow of the game now. Wanted to play $3-6, put my name on the list but it was 9 people deep on one table and 6 on another. Finally a seat opened up for me 45 minutes later, but by then I was deep into my $2-4 game. Was also playing $1-2 on Ulitmatebet at the same time. Did well last night won 15 BBs at $2-4 in an hour and a half. Wish I could maintain these win rates over the long haul. I doubt anyone can win 10BBs per hour at a single limit table. If someone could all the fish would be broke in no time at all. Tonight may play a few live Sit-N-Gos at my brother’s house. If not will be on the $3-6 or $2-4 tables grinding it out. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Which are Tougher Limit Games?

Last night I played $2-4 again. Had a slightly profitable session. Won around 2 BBs in an hour. I think that $2-4 is a harder level to beat then $3-6 and $5-10. Players seam to be very aggressive at this level. When I used to play $5-10 the tables were weak tight. I am not talking about short-handed tables. These are totally different animals. I am talking about 9 handed games. I have read the same thing in a few other BLOGS. Other bloggers seam to agree that $2-4 is a tougher level then some of the higher levels. Has anyone else experienced the same thing? I have played on FullTilt, Stars, and Ultimatebet at $3-6 and $5-10. Lately I have been playing $2-4 exclusively on FullTilt. Please leave a comment about this. I am interested in other people’s opinions on this. I am talking about Limit HE only. Good luck at the tables. Tony

P.S. – Please remember to click through on my Google Banner above. This BLOG hasn’t been making much money lately. I need to pay the bills : - ).

Minor Setback

I had a temporary setback on Sunday night playing online. All last week I was running so good. Actually on Sunday day I was running great also. Then the stupid Ultimatebet Jackpot kept getting bigger and bigger Sunday. I didn’t want to stop playing being I felt it would be hit on Sunday. It eventually was after I gave up for the night! Problem is I played way too long on Sunday, think I put in like 10 hours at the tables. I started making really bad plays. I was calling really loss pre-flop with any suited connecter or suited one gapers. All in my quest to be part on the bad beat jackpot. On one hand I flopped quad eights against an opponent who made three Queens on the turn. One more Queen and I would have been over 100K richer! These kinds on enticements make it hard for me to stop playing. By the end of the night my 30BB profit had turned into a 40BB lose. Last night I made it all back and then some. Moved up to $2-4 and have now won my last 2 sessions playing it. Need to build up the bankroll a little more before going to $3-6. Tonight I will be at it again, but for a short session. ESPN is showing the long awaited for $50,000 HORSE event at 8pm. I can’t wait to watch some real poker. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Borgata Post.

Here is the long awaited for Borgata post. We went to the Borgata planning on playing around 10 hours of poker. What happened instead is we both went on such a quick rush that we only played 2 hours of poker! Combined we made 55 Big bets in this time! These kind of rushs are what makes poker awesome. My wife turned a full house with pocket eights when there were 2 Kings on the board. One player had K-J the other had a flush draw. The betting was capped on the turn, 3 handed! Then the flush came on the river and she got 2 more bets from each of them. It was so sweet. Simailar hand happened to me. I flopped a set and 2 people refused to beleive I had anything. The board paired tens on the river and I dragged down a huge pot. We are already planning on going again next weekend. These games, at the Borgata, are just so juicy. I may post about some more hands tommorrow. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Short Borgata Trip Report.

Live Sit-N-Go

I finally broke through the glass ceiling! I chopped first place in a SNG at my cousin’s house. Have been having fun playing SNGs with my cousins and brothers. Problem is I kept running into coolers or getting draw out on. Also got hit with too many bubbles over there. Last night’s first SNG was more of the same. My brother, who has been holding over me, tricked me into pushing all my chips in heads up. I had A-J and he had pocket tens. Flop came J-10-4, he checked and I bet 1000, he called. On the turn he checked and I bet 1000 again, he raised me to 3000. If I called was pretty much pot committed anyway, so I pushed and he insta-called. I hate pushing on the turn and drawing dead! He felted me once again. The second SNG went much better for me. We got down to 3 handed with 2 places being paid. I was second in chips for most of time. I finally got a good read on how my cousin Anthony plays. I raised 3 times the big blind with pocket jacks. Flop came K-J-K, gin for me! I looked over at him and just sensed he was going to push. So I checked and he insta-pushed, which I insta-called of course. He had J-10 and was drawing dead. The turn and river brought Ace, Ace so if he had one it would have been a real sick beat for me. He has been holding over me for months also. Last time we played I flopped a straight and he chased to the river to catch a flush draw. Another time I pushed with top pair and he called off 50% of his chips with middle pair and got there. Well I finally beat him and took one down. We are going to try to play every few weeks so it will give me some more live posting material. Borgata tonight, wish me luck! Good luck at the tables. Tony

Running Good again!

Poker is so much fun when everything is going right, like last night. Had a session where I couldn’t do anything wrong. Especially on Absolute where I having been getting beat up lately. Did very well on Full Tilt also. Made back all the money I lost Tuesday and most of Monday’s lose. Made around 35 BBs, cleared $10 in bonus on Absolute, and $5 on Ultimate. This doesn’t include my rake back on Full and maintaining my ironman status. All these little things add up to a nice win for the day. Of course now over confidence is slipping in. Tonight I will once again move up to $2-4 and try to grind some profit there. Really I want to work my way back up to $5-10. Then play there for a while until I can give $8-16 and $10-20 a shot. Just want to build up the bankroll to a safer position to play the higher games. At one time I was trying to do the same at No Limit but lost interest in it. This happened after taking some sick bad beats, so I decided to go back to my bread and butter, Limit Holdem. Online Stud has been great for me also but the games have been less and less frequent on Ultimate lately. Full Tilt has Stud but I never seam to beat the game there for a substantial amount of profit. Looks like our Borgata trip is set for this weekend. I can’t wait to play some more $10-20 there. The room is so nice and most of the players are soft. The games at the Taj are softer but you have to deal with all the Taj BS. Loud room, bad food, cheap beer, dirty chips, and smelly players! I could go on for hours about the problems in that room these days. It’s just that sometimes to make more money we will put up with it. That’s it for today. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Running Bad

Played much better last night but more or less had the same results. Didn’t lose as much as Monday night but lost anyway. Last night seamed to be one of those cooler nights I have every once and awhile. I played a SNG, pushed nines in the small blind into the big blind, who was short. He woke up with Aces and I lost half my stack. A few hands later I made a move, short stacked, with 10-7 suited. Of course A-10 off insta-calls me. I know I looked desperate but it was for half his chips. Oh well in the long run I want them calling my pushes with A-10. Most likely I will have A-K or a pair in this spot. In limit I played fine but ran into sick hands. At Full Tilt we had Quads twice in one orbit! I lost a huge pot in one of them with a full house. Thankfully I was only playing $1-2 last night. I made a big comeback to only finish down 15 BBs. Tonight I want to book a win, any win will do. Just need to earn enough points to maintain my Ironman status, then I will quit even up just 1 BB! After taking bad loses I always look to book a win. We may make another Borgata trip this weekend. Last weekend’s trip was very profitable for me. Also the wife is dying to book a nice win also. She has been getting beat up online lately so she wants some revenge. Look out $10-20 Donks we are coming to get you : -). Good luck at the tables. Tony

Over Confidence is bad for Poker Players.

Things have been going so well for me in Poker lately. Whenever this happens I got over confident and cocky. Usually I hit the wall big time. Last night I hit that wall but it wasn’t that bad. I managed to make a big comeback and only lose 29 BBs in two hours of play. Played very sloppy at first, making re-raise moves on the turn with air. In limit this is a recipe for disaster. Only works if your opponent has air also. What would happen is a pre flop raiser would continue bet on a flop of K-2-4. I would call/float the flop with nothing. The turn would bring a 2 or 5 and I would check. He would bet and I would check raise. This move works if he has say A-Q or A-J. Problem is they almost always had K-Q or A-K against me last night. I made this same move repeatedly during the $2500 HORSE event against Doyle Brunson. It worked over and over again for me. Difference is this works in a tournament when people care about their chips. Last night in a few hands I had people calling me down with A high after I check raised the turn. Nothing went right for me last night. So I decided to just play ABC poker for the rest of the night. At my low point I was down 50 BBs. So I almost made half of it back from just playing like a nit. Oh well at low limit doing fancy things only seam to hurt you. I will be at it again tonight. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Borgata Trip Report

Our Borgata trip was a big success this weekend. I won 35 BBs in around 7 hours of play of $10-20. Had some really crazy hands, seamed to avoid bad beats most of the weekend. Biggest problem I had was flopping the nut flush draw. I flopped a four flush 15 times, with an Ace and only hit 1 flush. These pots were all huge! If I got there one third of the time my weekend would have really been profitable. Here is an example of a hand where my read was perfect but I still had to get lucky to win. A passive new player brought it in for a raise under the gun.(New as in probably doesn’t play Casino poker too often, very predictable.) I would think he would have to have A-K,A-Q, AA, KK, QQ, or JJ to do this. I have pocket threes, a hand I would normally fold in this situation, but I cold called the raise. Figured if he didn’t have a pocket pair I would take the pot down on the flop. We see the flop heads up, Q-10-3 all clubs. He leads out, I raise, he three bets, and I four bet. At this point I know he has Aces or Kings with a club. The turn brings a club and he checks so I go with my read and check behind. He looks upset at this check by me. (Which tells me he does have the flush.) The board pairs the ten on the river. He leads out and I insta-raise with my full house. He calls and before he turns over his cards I say I have a full house and you have pocket Kings with the King of clubs right? The table got real quiet as he showed everyone his cards. I sucked out on the flop, he sucked out on the turn, and I re-sucked out on the river. Holdem is funny like that sometimes. I got a lot of respect in this game from then on. They were amazed that I knew exactly what he had. The clues were all there for me to figure out. The thing that gave away the fact that he had Kings and not Aces is that the big blind thought about calling for 2 minutes before folding. I just knew he had a weak Ace that he was considering calling with. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Full Tilt Sunday Major.

Yes I won my $55 Sat. I am playing in their Sunday Major right now. Playing in my wife's account "TCGRO". Come sweat me. Hopefully tomorrow I will have good news to post about this tournament. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Sunday on Full Tilt.

Things are going great today playing online. I played an $8.80 satellite into the 3:30 $55 super for their Sunday major event tonight. Took it down and hopefully will be able to parley it into a seat. Wish me luck! Been grinding it out at $1-2 all day, up over 30 BBs so far. I love sundays! Good luck at the tables. Tony

Quick Borgata Report.

Our Borgata trip was great this weekend. I kicked some serious ass at $10-20. Have many good hands to discuss. I will post about them later. Right now I am in a juicy $1-2 game on Full Tilt, with the drunks from last night. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Slow Blogging Time

Haven’t had much to post about this week. Haven’t played a single SNG or MTT yet this month. Been grinding it out at the Limit HE tables. So far this month has been positive. Actually had a negative month in September, due to money spent in Satellites for the WCOOP. We are dying to play some live poker. Need to feel real clay chips in my hand. We are making an AC trip tonight. Will grind it out at $10-20 at the Borgata. If I do well tonight I will invest the winnings in the $340 Borgata Saturday No Limit tournament. I have written about this tournament often in the past. You start with 10,000 chips and the levels last 30 minutes. Absolute best-structured daily tournament in Atlantic City. Hopefully I will have something good to post about Sunday morning! Good luck at the tables. Tony

Cooler!

I came home tonight all excited to crush the $2-4 game on Full Tilt. I post and get dealt pocket Kings my first hand! Flop comes a perfect K-9-6 with 2 clubs. I bet and get raised. The two of us go to the turn after a capped flop. The board pairs the six on the turn. Again we cap it and go to the river. An offsuit 2 falls on the river and he bets right into me. I just know I am beat here. I only call behind on the river. He shows me four sixes! I got coolered by a one outer on my first hand. I am just so good. Anyone else would have capped the river with the top full house. I just figured it was 50% that I was beat. He either had pocket sixes or pocket nines. Thing is he limped in and called my raise pre-flop. This pushed me toward pocket sixes. Other thing is I know my opponeat is very agressive and probably would have 3 bet me with pocket nines. Oh well just another cooler, not my first or last one. Good luck at the tables. Tony

Another Night of Online Play.

Didn’t play any Sit-N-Gos last night. Decided to just grind it out at live games. Did very well in 2 hours made 20 BBs. Wish I could move up to higher stakes and make 10 BBs per hour. That would be so sweet! We watched High Stakes Poker last night. That show is just getting better and better. It seams that Sam Farha is somewhat of a steamer. What about Jennifer Harmon bad beat to Daniel last night? They ran the hand twice and she lost both times after flopping two pair against one! That is just bad luck plain and simple. Did you see how dejected she looked after this? It will be interesting to see if see steams a little herself on next weeks show. Also Jamie Gold doesn’t seam to be as much of an Asshole as everyone has been saying about him. We all don’t know what went on behind the scenes of the lawsuit. I am loving that show more and more every week. Wish they had more then a one-hour new show. We have all the old ones taped, have watched them so many times. Oh well I will have till wait until next Monday night. Tonight the WSOP Main Event is on for two hours. Gives me something to look forward too on Monday and Tuesday nights. Good luck at the tables. Tony

It's a new day, won't be pushed around.

Only got to play one Sit-N-Go yesterday. Played an $11 HORSE one on Full Tilt. I won it by a wide margin. I got hit in the face with the deck. Was never in trouble in this one. When we got heads up had a 5 to 1 chip lead, which is very hard to overcome in a limit tournament. Played a few hours of live, lost a very small amount. Really couldn’t get anything going in Stud yesterday. I won 30 BBs playing limit holdem, but lost a little more playing Stud. Also played some Omaha Hi/Lo on Absolute and did very well. If the $1-2 full tables would go more often I would play them all the time. Some people have no idea how to play Hi/Lo Omaha. K-J-3-6 rainbow is not a good starting hand in this game! Tonight I will start my quest to maintain my Iron Man Status on Full Tilt. Last month was the first time, in awhile that I actually paid attention to earning enough points to become an “IronMan” : - ). May play in a few SNGs to start the month off on a winning note. I had a losing month in September, not a lot but negative anyway. Most of it came from WCOOP satellites and playing in the RAZZ event. Oh well I will start from a clean slate tonight. Good luck at the tables. Tony

P.S. – Please click through my Google Adsense banner above this post. I need to play the bills this month : - ).
